Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory Intern
The Role
The Biomedical Optics Research Laboratory at the University of Zurich is developing a near-infrared optical tomography imager to non-invasively image brain oxygenation in neonates. The project involves hardware and software development, with testing from phantoms to clinical settings. It aims to prevent brain lesions and long-term disabilities in neonates and can apply to other medical contexts. The collaboration with EPFL enhances the interdisciplinary research environment.
Requirements
Requires an electrical engineer or physicist with a Master's Degree, expertise in hardware and software engineering (PCB design, FPGA, optical components, C, C++, Matlab, VHDL), and mathematical understanding (diffusion equation, finite element methods, matrices, machine learning). Fluency in English is necessary, and knowledge of German is welcome. Candidates should be motivated and enthusiastic.
